Eighteen years ago I had an accident at work which resulted in me needing several operations on my spine. Even after surgery I was in constant pain in my back and my right leg. Medication didn’t seem to help. I found myself wishing I wouldn’t wake up some days because the pain was so bad. I even considered driving my car into a wall.
Then my brother invited me to his church and eventually one Sunday morning I went.
I found I really enjoyed it and started to go regularly. What I also found was that I was starting to feel much better. I was coping with the pain and all the thoughts of suicide had gone. I realised that the burdens I had been carrying were being lifted each week as I went to church and got to know Him. I knew it was time to give my life over to God and I have never looked back since. I thank God for each new day. I have a relationship with Him and I know that He is always with me.
